Diana T. Myers has over forty years of experience in the field of housing and community development as consultant, director of private and public agencies, and through university and government‑related research and training. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and also holds a Masters Degree in City Planning from that institution.
Ms. Myers’ was the Founder and President of Diana T. Myers and Associates, Inc. (DMA) from 1988 until September 2013, when she stepped down as President and now serves as the Senior Vice President. Prior to starting her own consulting firm, she served as Director of Consulting Services for Resource Equity Corporation. Her consulting and research experience includes work for Enterprise Foundation, The National Shared Housing Resource Center, The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, The Center for Rural Pennsylvania, The Opportunities Industrialization Center, and The Israeli Ministry of Housing. These efforts influenced state and national housing policies and programs. Under the auspices of Temple University’s Center for Social Policy and Community Development, she established a program to provide technical assistance to agencies engaged in housing and development activities.
Ms. Myers has expertise in designing and managing state and local housing and community development programs. She served eight years with the PA Department of Community Affairs, four as Chief of the Development Division in Harrisburg. Her responsibilities included policy development, administration of $160 million of state funds and supervision of staff in five regional offices. As Director of Housing and Community Development for Montgomery County, PA she managed a program among 57 cooperating units of local government, initiated ten innovative programs, and administered an annual budget of $4 million.
Ms. Myers has worked extensively with non-profit development corporations to produce housing for low and moderate income and other special needs population. Her projects include the development of a housing cooperative for persons with serious mental illness, relocation of the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg, design and implementation of a lease purchase program for Community Housing Services, Inc., development of residences for persons with HIV/AIDS for Calcutta House and Family and Community Service of Delaware County, a transitional housing facility for homeless families for Ambler Interfaith Alliance, a recovery houses for substance abusers for One Day at a Time, and apartments for survivors of domestic violence for Nehemiah’s Way.
Ms. Myers has also been a major provider of technical assistance in Pennsylvania. Under contracts to the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and the PA Association of Area Agencies on Aging, she has coordinated state wide training and technical assistance that has resulted in thousands of new housing opportunities for elderly and people with disabilities. Under contract to the PA Department of Community and Economic Development and to individual County Continuums of Care she has generated close to $300 million of HUD McKinney dollars to Pennsylvania for homeless housing and service projects Ms. Myers has also provided SHP Technical Assistance to the HUD Pittsburgh Office to Continuums of Care in Pennsylvania and West Virginia as well as individual project applicants.
DMA, led by Ms. Myers has conducted statewide strategic housing planning for four Commonwealth of Pennsylvania agencies, producing the following reports: Housing Options for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder for the Bureau of Autism Services; A Five Year Plan for Integrating Affordable Housing and Long Term Supports in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the Governors Office of Health Care Reform/Office of Long Term Living, A Report on Non-Traditional Housing Options for the Intra-Governmental Council on Long Term Care, and A Plan for Promoting Housing and Recovery-Oriented Services, for the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Each report resulted in a series of recommendations on how to expand housing choice and opportunities for the targeted population.
In the area of training, Ms. Myers and DMA developed a six module “Housing 101” web-based training for professionals working to assist individuals to move from nursing homes and other institutions back into the community. Ms. Myers has also developed and managed a national program for housing rehabilitation program managers for the U/S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has conducted seminars for the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health, PA Department of Community and Economic Development and other state and local agencies on topics such as McKinney, HEARTH, Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program, the Emergency Solutions Grant Program, and managing federal funding cutbacks. She has trained community organizations throughout Pennsylvania on how to plan, develop and operate housing for special needs populations. Ms. Myers has served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of City Planning, for the Temple University Urban Studies Program and the Chestnut Hill College Autism Certificate Program.
Ms. Myers has formed and actively participates in a number of community and professional boards and committees devoted to promoting housing and employment opportunities for lower income persons. She served six years on the Affordable Housing Advisory Council of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, and on the board of the Crefeld School in Chestnut Hill Philadelphia and serves on the Board of Federation Housing, Inc., which owns and operates over 1400 units of housing for the elderly in the Philadelphia area. Previous voluntary positions included Vice Presidency of the Montgomery County Housing Coalition, Secretary and Board member of the First Shared Housing Corporation and Vice President of the Housing Association of Delaware Valley. In 1995 she provided a business internship under the Business for Russia program of Philadelphia’s International Visitors Council.

Ms. Myers is a Life Member of the National Registry of Who’s Who, published in the 2001 edition. In December 2007 she received the Partnership Award from the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania.
