Jessica Sones became an Associate of DMA in October 2020. She joined DMA in April 2019 as Junior Associate, Data & Housing Program Analyst. Jessica has a background in homeless services and youth services and brings ten years of experience in project management, program development, data and policy analysis and compliance monitoring to her role at DMA.
Prior to joining DMA, Jessica served as the Youth System Coordinator with the City of Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services where she spearheaded the city’s coordinated community response to youth homelessness, engaging partners across the city to address youth homelessness. In this role, Jessica also supported the youth-led homelessness advisory board, co-chaired the 40-member Philly Homes 4 Youth Coalition, wrote the city’s first youth homelessness needs assessment and oversaw the launch of two youth-specific access points for the coordinated entry intake system. She also oversaw a training initiative for over 800 homeless service staff in which staff were trained in providing inclusive and affirming services for LGBTQ youth.
Jessica also worked as a Program Manager for the ELECT teen parenting program with Congreso de Latinos Unidos in Philadelphia, overseeing program implementation in 13 high schools. Prior to that, she served in several positions with Valley Youth House, working directly with older youth who were experiencing homelessness or preparing to exit the foster care system. In addition, Jessica served as a Case Manager at Juvenile Law Center, where she answered legal intake inquiries from across Pennsylvania and the U.S. and worked directly with older youth in the foster care system.
Jessica graduated with her Master in Social Work degree from Temple University and earned her Bachelor in Social Work degree from Eastern University.
