Lauren Whitleigh joined DMA in March 2020 as Continuum of Care Staff for the Eastern PA CoC. Lauren brings significant experience in Continuum of Care, community engagement, planning, project management and compliance monitoring to her role at DMA.
Prior to joining DMA, Lauren served as Quality Assurance Manager for Covenant House Pennsylvania where she focused on program compliance, performance and quality. She supported Covenant House Pennsylvania leadership in aligning policies and practice with funding requirements. Lauren conducted regular analyses of program data to ensure completeness and track performance against benchmarks.
Lauren also served as Director of Planning for the City of Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services where she spearheaded the Philadelphia CoC’s strategic planning process, oversaw the annual CoC Program funding selection process, organized the preparation and submission of the HUD CoC Application, developed standards and policies to ensure Philadelphia’s compliance with federal program regulations. She also supported activities of the CoC governing body and committees, including, but not limited to, conducting the annual Point-in-Time count and gaps analysis and recruiting new CoC members. Lauren also served as CoC Program Manager for the City of Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services.
Prior to her CoC work, Lauren served as a public policy intern for People’s Emergency Center, connecting youth at risk of experiencing homelessness to resources. Lauren also served as an intern with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Homeless Health Initiative, supporting parents in emergency shelter in connecting their children to primary healthcare. Lauren also worked in constituent services for the Chair of the Philadelphia City Council Committee on Housing, Neighborhood Development, and the Homeless.
Lauren has a Master of Social Work degree from Temple University and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Human Services degree from Boston University.
